Hello,  
I have been fixing desktops and laptops for quite some time now.  I charge a flat fee
of $60 for the repairs.  This does not include parts or software, but often times you 
will not need anything else.  Best Buy charges $199 plus parts for the same service.
 
I have a 4-year degree in engineering and I do this on the side.
 
If you would like references, I'll be happy to provide them.
