Coonhound - Medium - Young - Female - Dog - June Bug-HELP
Description
UPDATE 8/11: Some of you may remember June Bug who was on our site with a HELP button some months back. See below for the chronology. We fixed her subluxing patella with the help of our donors and she was doing great!!! --- Until she developed separation anxiety and jumped out a second floor windowby pushing her body out next to the air conditioner, trying to follow her mom to work. She ended up with a complicated broken leg and her vet bill for that totalled $4300!! We are trying to help this adopter who has stuck with this dog through thick and thin. We are thinking June Bug's name should have been Calamity Jane. Any donation big or small will greatly help us help this adopter who is young and hasn't accumulated a lifetime of wealth to spend on this dog. Believe it or not, $10 and $20 donations from many people really add up and that's how we usually get to ambitious goals like this :) June Bug's forever home is with Johnna L. in Somerville, MA and Johnna is loving her. However after coming north, June Bug was found to have a severe luxating patella and needed surgery costing $2300 (and then some subsequent physical therapy). Our donors helped pay for this and the rescue was able to cover it in full. Every little bit helped a lot!! If you can now help us with helping to pay for fixing her broken leg, please click on the donate button which follows. The rescue will match donations that we receive for her broken leg, so each donation will be doubled. Thank you!!! Thank you already to Leanne B. for the first donation toward the broken leg and thank you to Denise K. and Jan L., Mary S., Joanne W, Robert W., Medfield and Walpole adoption event donations, Mil and Scott, Karen S, Joanne S., Dawn D, Karen W., Wendy C., Ronni K, and Karen C --$1556 to go. This southern little lady is "June Bug" She is 1-1 1/2 yrs old and weighs 35 lbs and is a BEAUTIFUL Black & Tan Coon Hound. She was left tied up at the city shelter full of milk and no puppies found with her. Her foster mom describes her as having a med/high activity level and is very much a people dog and is extremely devoted to humans, June Bug loves to be loved on by people. Some of her favorite places to relax are behind the computer chair when her foster mom is typing and loves to sleep in the laundry room when the washer/dryer are running. June Bug knows her basic commands, has normal curiosity towards cats, does well with children (3-16 yrs) and is house trained. She does fine with the crate, but did get out once while at the vet clinic. When she was spotted and called by the vet tech she came happily running into her arms!
