Description
Tony in his foster home is a Gentle Giant. His cool face and looks grab attention on his daily walks. He was withdrawn and sad and not at all happy when he found himself at the Pound, but with the kindness of his foster caretakers, he continually shows he adapts well to new surroundings, new people and new canine friends. Tony is about 7-8 years old, and all or mostly Akita, a reserved breed that generally takes time to "warm up". He prefers to check out his environment, and once trusting, he will grant the honor of his attention without demanding. He is loyal, affectionate, and loving, enjoys belly rubs, scratches, and just being by his "buds". He loves to just hang in the yard, ride in the car (the longer the better), walks and even jogging. He can be stubborn, but he listens to firm but gentle leadership. He actually enjoys baths! Tony is happy to be part of the action but doesn't have to be the center of it. He is about 75 pounds, housetrained, and not destructive. He even likes the UPS man, greets new people appropriately and then goes back to his bed and toys.
