Looking for interesting holiday gifts? Don't want to fight the crowds at the mall, just to get the same old things? Come to the World Marketplace gift event on the Wakefield Common on Saturday, Sept. 26, 10 am - 3 pm.
We'll have scarves, bags, jewelry, accessories, artwork, crafts, ready-made gift baskets and other items from countries in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe for sale.

The World Marketplace is part of the Walk for Economic Empowerment, happening at the same location. Take a walk around Lake Quannapowitt and raise money for a good cause at the same time! See www.w4ee.org for more information about the Walk.

All proceeds from the marketplace sale and the walk registration fee ($20) will go to PEER Servants, a non-profit organization that supports microfinance efforts in the developing world. Microfinance is a powerful poverty alleviation tool that provides small loans and business training to the poor. Loans as small as $200 can start a business that will provide income to feed, clothe and educate a family, helping them on the road from poverty to self-sufficiency, dignity and hope.
For more information, visit www.peerservants.org, or contact Sandy Smith at sandy.smith@peerservants.org.
